ENTRY TO THE NKC

All NKC users are required to keep their personal belongings at the Property Counter.  Taking of briefcase, bags, files, jerkin, raincoat, umbrella, issued books etc. inside the NKC is strictly prohibited.

LOSS OF DOCUMENTS

The borrower shall be responsible for loss or damages caused to the NKC material borrowed and must be immediately reported to the Librarian in writing. The user will be required to replace the same or latest edition of the document or pay double the price of such document besides overdue charges. If the document forms a part of a series, the borrower will be charged for the replacement of the entire set.

The price of the lost document once made, will not be refunded at any cost.

CARE FOR USERS

When the document is returned to the NKC, the user should make sure that his/her responsibility is duly discharged and the document is cancelled from his/her name.

Before leaving the Issue Counter, users should satisfy themselves as to whether the item loaned to them is in sound condition. If not, they should immediately bring the matter to the knowledge of the NKC staff at the Issue Counter. Otherwise, he/she will be held liable for the damages, noticed at the time of return.

The NKC documents are very costly. They are for the benefit for both the present and the future users. Therefore, writing, marking and tracing in the documents is misconduct for the user and dealt with accordingly. If a document is mutilated or damaged when it was in possession of the member, NKC has every right to demand for replacement or compensation for damages.

CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

All those who leave the University after completion of the programme must return all book(s) / issued document(s) etc and obtain a “No Dues” certificate from the Librarian.

COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT

The NKC tries to select and purchase the most valuable document in the fields of interest to fulfill the needs of its users. The users are welcome to suggest the titles of documents for possible purchase by filling up the ‘Requisition Form” available at NKC

DONATION TO THE NKC

The NKC accepts donation of books, periodicals, special publications, audio-visual materials, CD-ROMs etc. from individuals and institutions and ever remain thankful to the doner.

RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE COMPETENT AUTHORITY
